Ge ic697bem731 is a single channel genius bus controller module designed for the 90-70 series automation platform of GE Fanuc (now part of Emerson automation solutions). It acts as the central communication hub of a single genius bus segment in the network, and realizes the communication between genius bus compatible devices, including i/o modules, operator interfaces and other controllers.
Main functions:
Genius bus communication: manage the communication on genius bus. Genius bus is a high-speed data highway connecting genius bus devices in series 90-70 systems.
Single channel operation: handle the communication of a genius bus segment, and each segment supports up to 64 genius bus devices.
Backplane connection: located in a single ic66*plc slot in the 90-70 series PLC chassis, it provides backplane connection for power supply and communication.
