SST-PB3-CX-RLL enables communication between ControlLogix processors and remote input/output (I/O) devices on the PROFIBUS network.
PROFIBUS is a widely used industrial communication protocol that allows various automation devices to exchange data.
The scanner module acts as the master device on the PROFIBUS network, initiating communication with slave devices (such as remote I/O modules, sensors, actuators) and collecting data from them.
Then, the ControlLogix processor can use this data for control and monitoring purposes.
Main functions:
Support for PROFIBUS DP (decentralized peripherals): This is a common variant of PROFIBUS used to connect remote I/O devices.
Connect to ControlLogix through the backplane: Insert into a dedicated slot on the compatible ControlLogix chassis backplane.
RS-232 configuration port: allows the use of specialized software tools for configuration and diagnosis.
RS-485 PROFIBUS interface: Connect to PROFIBUS network wiring.
