There are several methods to connect the TRICONEX FTA-544 controller. The simplest method is to use the connectors provided by TRICONEX. There are two types of connectors:
Direct connector: The direct connector allows you to directly connect FTA-544 to the Ethernet port of the controller.
Stacking connectors: Stacking connectors allow you to connect multiple FTA-544 together to form a stack. The stack can be used to expand the number of ports in FTA-544.
If you do not have the connectors provided by TRICONEX, you can use third-party connectors. Third party connectors are usually cheaper than the connectors provided by TRICONEX, but they may not be compatible with all controllers.
Regardless of which connector you use, connecting the FTA-544 controller requires the following steps:
Turn off the power to the controller.
Connect FTA-544 to the controller.
Turn on the power to the controller.
If you are using a through connector, connect one end of the connector to the Ethernet port of the controller and the other end to the Ethernet port of FTA-544.
If you are using a stacked connector, connect one end of the stacked connector to the Ethernet port of the controller and the other end to the Ethernet port of the first FTA-544. Then, connect the second FTA-544 to the stacking port of the first FTA-544. Continue connecting to other FTA-544 until you create the required stack.
After connecting all FTA-544 at once, please turn on the power to the controller. The controller should automatically detect FTA-544. If the controller does not detect FTA-544, you may need to manually configure the controller to use FTA-544. For more information, please refer to the controller’s documentation.
